The Apis M is a factory-built 15 meter self-launching glider designed by Pipistrel by AMS Flight.
$45K OBO (Connecticut, USA) posted by Deane Williams (1) on 07/07/2025
The Apis M is a factory-built 15 meter self-launching glider designed by Pipistrel and made by AMS Flight. This is a modern
sailplane with automatic control hook-ups, full span 5-position flaperons, carbon spar caps, built-in winglets and a laminar flow airfoil.
It is easy to fly, has strong spin resistance yet has good performance. The sink rate is excellent due to the generous wing area of 136 sq. ft.
The reliable Rotax 447 engine has 41 HP and
climbs out at 500fpm. Parts are readily available if needed. The tank holds 3.5 gallons which is more than enough for restarts
and retreives if required. I have accumulated many cross-country miles with the Apis. Radio includes an antenna in the rudder,
boom mike, PTT on the stick and speaker behind the pilot's right shoulder. Includes a
seperate solar panel and cable for easy charging of the secondary battery without removal while you get ready to fly.
It has headset jacks and a 12 Volt power jack too. The gelcoat finish eventually
started to craze so I had it refinished with 2-part urethane paint in 2021. Primary (engine) battery is a new Yusa, last year.
There is a flexible solar panel on the turtle deck so you never have to charge the battery all season. The engine also charges this battery.
There is a seperate solar panel and cable for easy charging of the secondary (instrument) battery without removal, while you get ready to fly.
The upper and lower flaperon gap seals have been recently replaced in June 2025. The landing wheel is fixed and faired. Includes a dolly for the tail wheel.
Includes Flight manual and Maintenance manual. No damage history.
The Avionic trailer is in great shape with a fiberglass clamshell, new 8 ply tires and a solar panel powering a fan
to draw air through the trailer. New factory gas struts were installed last fall.
Priced to sell at US $45,000 OBO. Compare to the much older, heavier DG-400 without automatic hookups.
